Open the page and start drawing. There is nothing to sign up for, your work saves in the browser, and you can share a live link so others draw with you. Collaboration is end-to-end encrypted, so the server only relays scrambled data.
The code is MIT licensed and the repository includes what you need to host your own copy. A paid version, Excalidraw+, funds the project and adds team features, so the free tool is a gadget with a business next to it. Files are open, which keeps the Lock-in score high.
