mpv plays almost anything with a bare window, and you shape it with a text file and keystrokes. It is light and open source, and it has no account or tracking.
The bare window and the config file make it a poor fit for people who want buttons, so Delivery is a 2.
- A bare window that plays almost anything
- Shaped by a text config file
- Poor fit if you want menus and buttons

This badge reports a dated review. It is not a certification and it costs nothing. Link it to this page and leave the numbers alone: the image always shows the current score.
For dark backgrounds, use mpv-dark.svg in place of mpv-light.svg.
For comparison, we also reviewed Spotify (14/30) as a benchmark.
