A lovely place to collect ideas, run as an advertising business.

Benchmark review. Giants are reviewed rarely, to show what the tools in the directory are measured against. This one is not listed in the directory, and it is an example, not a recommendation. Scores are our opinion on the six questions, based on public sources and dated October 2026.

Pinterest is a pleasant way to collect visual ideas, and many people love it for that. It also requires registration to use, shows promoted pins from advertisers, and its terms give it a broad, sublicensable licence over what you post, though you keep ownership. Copies of content shared with others can remain after you delete your account.

Its business is advertising, with revenue of about US$3.65 billion in 2024, and it has leaned on AI tools to steer discovery. Its terms do not describe how to export a collection, so we could not confirm that you can take yours with you. Compare it with the collecting tools in the directory.
