Logseq keeps your notes as Markdown or Org files in a folder you own, and links them together as you write, so a day's journal becomes a map of what you know. It is open source and works offline.

It asks you to think in bullet points, which some people love and others find tiring. We have not checked its sync options closely, and its development pace has varied.

    What stands out

  • Notes live as plain files in a folder you own
  • Linked notes and daily journals, in outline form
  • Not for everyone, since everything is a bullet

This badge reports a dated review. It is not a certification and it costs nothing. Link it to this page and leave the numbers alone: the image always shows the current score.

For dark backgrounds, use logseq-dark.svg in place of logseq-light.svg.

For comparison, we also reviewed Microsoft Word (15/30) as a benchmark.
