PairDrop shows the other devices on your network inside a web page, and you drop a file onto one. Files travel directly between the devices, there is no account, and it works across Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iOS, which is the part AirDrop never managed.

It is a small volunteer project, so Longevity is a 3. We have not audited how its connection setup works, and for private files you should read its documentation first.

    What stands out

  • Works like AirDrop between any devices with a browser
  • No account and nothing to install
  • A small volunteer project, so lean on it for convenience

This badge reports a dated review. It is not a certification and it costs nothing. Link it to this page and leave the numbers alone: the image always shows the current score.

For dark backgrounds, use pairdrop-dark.svg in place of pairdrop-light.svg.

For comparison, we also reviewed Google Drive (15/30) as a benchmark.
